A few weeks ago I decided to take a road trip to northern Arizona. No pre-planning or research, just pack and go with my lady and a close friend. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I’m an Arizona native but haven’t done much exploring of my home state. We started at Woods Canyon Lake near Payson and camped in the area. There’s something about nature, beer and pb&j sandwiches that brings a sense of calmness. From there we traveled to Morman Lake to visit family. Interesting little countryside style town with classic looking mobile homes, old salon store and a history museum.
After a few beers, we were back on the road to Flagstaff where we spent the evening. Meditation and pancakes were on the morning agenda before traveling through Sedona to hike some beautiful trails. All in all, it was a great trip, and my subpar write up doesn’t serve the experience any justice, but hopefully, you’ll appreciate it.
